About Me

For the purposes’ of this Blog I define Travel as: Moving outside of your day to day path. This could include anything from taking a different walking path around town, sailing to a tiny forgotten island, visiting a new restaurant instead of your regular pizza place, or flying to Thailand with just a carryon. When you step outside your norm, you are traveling, and therefore opening the door to new experiences.

A bit about Breathing Dreams Travels and Myself

Hi, my name is Brittany and I am so glad you found your way here. You probably guessed that I love to travel, hence this blog, and you would be right. I feel most at peace when I’m out growing through a new experience and expanding my comfort zone. I have kept a bucket list of experiences I have wanted to collect since I was 17.

“Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You’ll find what you need to furnish it – memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.”

Tad Williams

I strongly believe you don’t have to wonder far to have the best adventures and you definitely don’t have to stay on mine or anyone else’s path. Therefore, I hope this blog serves as resource for empowerment and inspiration as you have your own adventure. And will cover week long getaways and weekend staycations, along with everything in-between.

Travel changed my life. I believe travel has the power of altering human experience to the point it will not only change your life but have a ripple affect around you. When I was in 8th grade, I started to rebel, as many teens of that age do. I was frustrated my life was nothing more than the day to day grind of the small town I was born in. I was angry that my mother took every chance she got to gamble away her and my future, and most of all, growing up with much older parents and no siblings, I felt alone. However, my story doesn’t end there and yours doesn’t have to end where you are lost at, either. Through some radical events, which I might discuss in a later post, I was sent with forty other kids around the world to Australia. During this trip I seen so many new things, I bonded with so many new amazing people, and I fell so in love with the world. That Australia trip taught me more things than I could ever record. Above all, it proved to me that the knowledge gained from your experiences, the ones not on your daily path (the experiences that stretch you as a person), have the power to shape you (perhaps even transform you) and teach you lessons that you didn’t even know you needed. No matter how short or simple it is, I come back from every adventure a bit of a changed person. Maybe I can start you on your journey or even better, we can travel together.

I want to empower you to travel and provide you with all the resources you need to start your own journey. Whatever your roadblocks are this blog will serve as inspiration, planning, and financial guidance on the way. If you don’t find what you need within its pages, please reach out to me directly.

Since that trip in my early teens, I have continued to travel every chance I get. I also made a point of digging myself out of a preimposed life of poverty and now live a life that’s full and comfortable. You won’t find extreme budget options within these articles, there are a lot of those already, and it’s simply not my style. My adventures now and the pages of this blog are about trying the most epic experiences, convenience over frugality, and getting the most out of our median budget. We are average people living an amazing life, and we are so happy to share it with you.

If I’m not traveling, I can be found snuggling with my tiny fur princess Lune-Faye “Lu”, reading classic and inspirational novels, sipping a wine by a fire, screaming on a roller coaster, or singing at the top of my lungs on the way to the grocery store.
